About This Tour

Your day begins with a guided walk through the historic streets of Hvar Old Town. Discover the town's most recognizable landmarks, including the elegant City Loggia and Clock Tower, the historic Arsenal building with Europe's oldest public theatre, and the lively St. Stephen's Square with its cathedral.

As you wander through narrow stone streets and sunlit marina, your guide will share stories about Hvar's maritime past, local traditions, and everyday island life. A stop at the Benedictine Convent reveals one of Hvar's most unique traditions — delicate agave lace handcrafted by Benedictine nuns and recognized on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

The tour then continues uphill to the Spanish Fortress (Fortica), a historic stronghold overlooking the town. Built in the late 13th century, the fortress offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views on the island, stretching across Hvar Town, the Pakleni Islands, and the open Adriatic.

Leaving the busy harbor behind, enjoy a scenic drive through the quieter heart of the island to Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Croatia. During a guided walk through its charming streets and peaceful squares, you'll discover layers of history. A highlight is Tvrdalj Castle, the Renaissance residence of poet Petar Hektorović.

After the guided walk, enjoy free time to explore Stari Grad at your own pace before the comfortable drive back to Hvar Town.
